Located at 311 W. Marlin Willis, Texas 77378,
Life Fellowship Church is a vibrant community dedicated to
sharing love, hope, and faith.
Led by Pastor Roland C. Oliphant and First Lady Eva Oliphant,
we strive to embody our motto:
"Reaching the Least, the Lost, and the Left Out."
Founding Vision
After much prayer, meditation, and contemplation, Pastor Roland C. Oliphant felt the divine call to step out in faith and plant a church. In 2019, God gave him a vision that set the foundation for what would become Life Fellowship Church. The initial preparations involved securing a 501(c)(3) designation to establish a non-denominational church grounded in Baptist doctrine.
Gathering the Community
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Oliphant reached out to individuals he felt led to invite. Approximately 22 people gathered in his home to hear the vision God had revealed to him. At the second meeting, the church was officially named Life Fellowship Church, adopting the motto: "Bridging the gap, reaching the least, lost, and left out." A church board was formed to help facilitate this new ministry.
First Services
On October 19, 2019, the church board decided it was time to find a venue for worship, targeting a tentative start date of November 3, 2019. God directed them to the Holiday Inn Conference Room at 2240 Stoneside Rd., Conroe, Texas. The first service was held on that date at 11:00 AM, with the theme song "Keep the Faith" by Charles Jenkins. Pastor Oliphant delivered a powerful sermon titled "How to Live an Abundant Life," based on Matthew 5:7. The energy was palpable, and the room was filled to capacity, with guests drawn in by the worship.
Bible Study and COVID Challenges
As Life Fellowship grew, Bible study sessions were established every Wednesday at 7:00 PM. However, in January 2020, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic forced the church to adapt. Despite losing their venue, the vision from God remained unshaken. The church turned to livestreaming services on Facebook from Pastor Oliphant's home, supported by Deacon James Easley, Deacon Victor Miles, and his son Nehemiah Oliphant. The ministry reached people across the nation, and God blessed the church both spiritually and financially, as congregants sought ways to contribute.
Transition to a Permanent Home
With the lifting of pandemic restrictions in May 2023, Life Fellowship continued to livestream services, recognizing the need for a physical space. During a board meeting, it was decided to temporarily hold services at the Willis Community Center at 200 W. Mink Street while searching for a permanent location.
In April 2022, Pastor Oliphant encountered a property for sale on W. Marlin, sensing it was God’s direction. After prayerful consideration, on April 30, 2022, the board decided to purchase the property. The church closed on the building on May 20, 2022.
As preparations for the new location progressed, generous donations flowed in. Pastor Oliphant received furniture and supplies from Pastor Trent Woods of Life Community Church, along with contributions from church members, including a pulpit, offering table, and sound equipment.
Life Fellowship Church celebrated its first service in its permanent home on June 4, 2023. The journey has been a testament to the faithfulness of God and the unwavering commitment of Pastor Oliphant and the congregation to fulfill their mission:
Reaching the Least, the Lost, and the Left Out.
Life Fellowship Church's journey has been marked by remarkable growth and community engagement, exemplified by six baptisms and the addition of 20 new members in recent months. These milestones reflect the church's commitment to its mission of reaching the least, the lost, and the left out, as individuals have responded to the message of hope and transformation shared by Pastor Oliphant and the congregation. Each baptism signifies a personal commitment to faith and a deepening relationship with God, while the influx of new members brings fresh energy and diverse perspectives, enriching the church community. As Life Fellowship continues to grow, it remains dedicated to fostering connections and nurturing spiritual growth, ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and valued within its vibrant family.
